WhatsApp is launching parent-linked accounts for pre-teens
WhatsApp is introducing parent-managed accounts for users under 13, restricting them to basic messaging and voice/video calls while blocking features such as Meta AI, Channels and Status. Parents control these accounts with PIN-protected settings, receiving alerts and overseeing contacts and group participation. The rollout aims to allow younger children to use the platform under parental supervision.
