Australia’s teen social media ban works on paper, less so in practice

Australia’s recent ban on social media for users under 18 appears to work only on paper. A study of 408 teens found that more than 80% were still active on social media three months after the ban took effect, citing inadequate age-verification checks. The evidence suggests the policy’s effectiveness is limited.
