GitHub will start charging Copilot users based on their actual AI usage
GitHub announced that all Copilot subscriptions will shift to a usage-based billing model on June 1, with the amount owed determined by the amount of AI processing consumed. The new system will use monthly GitHub AI Credits, eliminating the previous premium-request structure and charging users based on their actual Copilot usage.
