India has tightened its social-media rules to target AI-generated and manipulated content, mandating that platforms remove illegal deepfakes and other synthetic material within a two- to three-hour window and label such material as synthetic. The new requirements must be in place by February 20, reflecting the country’s effort to tighten oversight of artificially generated content.
