Microsoft is laying off 4,800 employees

Microsoft is cutting roughly 4,800 jobs, representing about 2 percent of its total workforce. The majority of the reductions are in the Xbox division, where layoffs amount to approximately eight percent of staff and are projected to rise to fifteen percent over the current fiscal year. The cuts affect both Xbox and commercial sales teams.
