Sony has confirmed that certain digital PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 titles will undergo a one-time online license verification when first launched, checking that the user actually owns the game. The check replaces the previous system that performed license verification every 30 days, and is intended to help prevent refund-related abuse.
