China’s Arm-based supercomputer LineShine has become the world’s fastest, outpacing the U.S. system El Capitan by 20 percent. It marks the first time a Chinese machine has topped the global ranking since 2017. LineShine achieved this without using any U.S. semiconductor chips. The Top500 list, released this week, lists LineShine as the fastest system worldwide.
