Waymo is asking DoorDash drivers to shut the doors of its self-driving cars

Waymo’s sixth-generation robotaxis, which operate in six U.S. cities, can become immobilized when a door is left open. To prevent this, the company has enlisted DoorDash drivers, paying them to close the doors of the autonomous vehicles after each ride. This partnership uses DoorDash’s workforce to keep Waymo’s self-driving cars moving.
