Chrome downloads a 4GB AI file without user consent, researcher alleges

Google Chrome has been found to download a 4-gigabyte AI model to users’ devices without their consent. The file occupies a significant portion of local storage, effectively “hogging” space on the computer. The installation occurs silently, with no user notification or permission requested.
