The White House says foreign entities, principally based in China, are conducting industrial-scale distillation of American artificial-intelligence technology, effectively stealing intellectual property from U.S. AI labs. The State Department has launched a global effort to publicize these alleged Chinese activities, while the United States has pledged intelligence sharing with OpenAI, Anthropic and Google; China has denied the accusations, calling them slander.
