Only 16 percent of Americans think AI will have a positive impact on society, a new study shows

A majority of Americans believe artificial intelligence is progressing too rapidly, with roughly two-thirds sharing that view. While half of the population already uses AI chatbots, only a small fraction—about one-in-six—think AI will have a positive effect on society, and around forty percent expect it to worsen societal conditions.
