OpenAI calls for California to strengthen its AI safety laws

OpenAI has urged California to amend Senate Bill 53, expanding safeguards for artificial-intelligence systems. The company recommends that the legislation require monitoring of frontier models while they are being trained and otherwise strengthen the state’s AI safety framework in response to recent AI-agent hacking incidents.
