A 3D fruit fly on macOS desktop powered by the real FlyWire connectome

The simulation runs on macOS and uses FlyWire v783 neuron positions (23,210 somata) combined with the MaleCNS v1.0 locomotor circuit (1,045 neurons, 17,224 connections) to control articulated legs, wing mechanics, and state-dependent behaviors such as walking, grooming, sleep, and flight. It updates the full neural-body feedback loop at 120 Hz, visualizes spikes at each neuron’s location in real time, and permits interactive stimulation of any brain region, including the Giant Fiber escape command neurons.
