5x faster Edge Functions: V8 isolates to Firecracker MicroVMs

Netlify’s Edge Functions now run inside MicroVMs on its own edge network, cutting median warm invocation latency to 5–6 ms from 25–40 ms and improving p99 performance by 47.4%. Availability reaches 99.998% and log delivery speeds up fivefold. Cold starts occur on 1.2% of requests, averaging 9 ms, while the API, routing, and deployment model remain unchanged.
