63% of Europe’s new data centre capacity is now going somewhere other than the big five

By the end of 2026 Europe will host 13 GW of data-centre capacity. In Q2, only 37% of the 700 MW added will be in Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam, Paris and Dublin. New builds concentrate in Belgium, Portugal, Spain, the Nordics and Italy due to faster grid connections, cheaper renewable power, and shorter permitting times, despite higher land costs.
