87% of German companies were attacked last year, and Russia has caught up with China

87% of German firms reported data theft, espionage or sabotage in the past year, costing €289.2 billion, with €202.4 billion directly linked to cyberattacks. Russia and China each account for 46% of externally attributed incidents, Russia rising from 39% the previous year. Malware, ransomware and phishing remain the primary attack vectors, and 59% of companies feel economically threatened by such incidents.
