Accel reportedly in talks to lead $1B round for Thinking Machines at $40B valuation
Thinking Machines, founded by former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati, is negotiating a $1 billion financing round that would value the startup at a minimum of $40 billion, with Accel leading. The company reports annual revenue above $100 million and recently launched Inkling, an open-weight model that charges usage-based compute fees on its Tinker platform. Its earlier $2 billion seed round valued the firm at $12 billion, backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Nvidia, GV, Lightspeed and Conviction Partners.
