AI has no intent and no motivation
Large language models are trained via reinforcement learning but, once deployed, they receive no rewards or punishments. They generate responses by running a forward-propagation algorithm on user prompts. The output can appear intelligent but is not driven by needs or goals. Experts assert that current AI cannot act autonomously or pose a rogue threat because it lacks a mechanism to pursue objectives or benefit from its outputs.
