The AI regulation smackdown isn’t over

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei proposed a three-step plan to slow AI development, involving third-party lab evaluators, domestic industry coordination, and international government agreements. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Google DeepMind co-founder Demis Hassabis, and Elon Musk publicly supported aspects of this framework. These labs are currently developing internal safety protocols to address these regulatory objectives.
