AI usage patterns in software teams

From January to June 2026, AI feature usage in Linear rose from 12% to 34% among product staff and from 5% to 18% in go-to-market roles. CEOs of firms with over 200 employees increased usage from 9% to 36%. Adoption roughly tripled across company sizes. Engineers spent 17% more time creating, triaging, and commenting, while founders added 17 minutes to creation and 26 minutes to commenting each month. AI now produces just under half of all new issues, up from fewer than one per thousand two years earlier.
