AI’s memory crunch is coming for Android apps

Google is tightening Android app requirements, mandating lower dynamic memory and bitmap usage and adding code-optimization rules to curb slowdowns and crashes caused by current memory chip shortages. New diagnostic tools, including a Memory Limiter feature, will warn developers of excess usage, with compliance due by February 2027.
