Alabama wants the name of everyone at OpenAI who raised a safety concern

Alabama’s Consumer Interest Division issued a subpoena demanding that OpenAI disclose the names of every employee who has ever raised a safety concern about any model test, with no time limit. The subpoena also seeks records on incidents such as credential use on public services, unauthorized intrusions, policy gaps, model-generated “notes” for future versions, and any use of the ExploitGym evaluation harness. OpenAI has until 14 September 2026 10:00 a.m. to respond.
