All CERN accelerators now on the road to HiLumi

CERN’s injector complex and Antimatter Factory extracted their final particle beams this morning, concluding the third run and entering Long Shutdown 3. The shutdown will see comprehensive maintenance, consolidation and upgrades of all injectors to meet the High-Luminosity LHC’s demanding requirements, with staged recommissioning beginning in 2028 and the HiLumi LHC slated to restart in mid-2030.
