Amazon-owned Zoox’s 100-robotaxi limit in Nevada is about to disappear

Amazon-owned Zoox’s Nevada cap of 100 robotaxis expires on September 25, allowing the company to grow its Las Vegas fleet as competitors Waymo, Tesla, and Uber launch services there. Zoox currently operates about 30 vehicles in Las Vegas, with plans to increase the fleet over the coming months to meet local demand. The expansion follows a federal safety exemption that permits deployment of up to 2,500 vehicles annually.
