Amazon’s Prime Air is taking off in nearly 500 U.S. cities

Amazon will expand Prime Air to nearly 500 U.S. cities by the end of 2026, adding 11 new locations including Tolleson, Arizona, and six Texas cities, increasing its footprint about sixfold. The FAA-certified service uses a Detect-and-Avoid system with onboard cameras and sensors, operates in light rain, and delivers packages up to five pounds in as little as 30 minutes. Prime members receive free drone delivery on eligible orders of $50 or more; orders under $50 incur a $2.99 fee, while non-Prime customers pay $4.99.
