Analog Devices will pay $1.35bn for edge AI chipmaker Alif Semiconductor

Analog Devices will acquire Alif Semiconductor for $1.35 billion in cash, with an additional $200 million contingent on performance, adding Alif’s fusion-processor microcontrollers that embed low-power neural processing units for on-device inference. The silicon, already in production for consumer and industrial sensors, enables deterministic, latency-critical AI without cloud round-trips, aligning with Analog’s strategy to complement its AI power-delivery acquisition.
