Anthropic merges Claude chat and Cowork memory, on by default

Anthropic integrated Claude’s chat and Cowork memory, making information shared in one instantly accessible in the other. The feature is default on Free, Pro, and Max plans across web, desktop, and mobile. Memory updates continuously, categorizes topics, and offers toggles for general and sensitive-topic storage while permanently blocking policy-restricted data. Users can view, edit, delete, pause, or reset stored memories, and the sensitive-topic switch stays off unless manually enabled.
