Anthropic signs $11.6bn Akamai cloud deal and gets warrant for 5% of Akamai

Anthropic signed a seven-year, $11.6 billion cloud infrastructure agreement with Akamai, with an option to expand the contract to $20 billion. Akamai issued Anthropic warrants for 5% of its common stock at an exercise price of $111.33. Akamai plans to invest $5.5 billion in capital expenditures to support the deal, which commences in late 2025.
