Anthropic users are taking the company to court over Max subscription terms

A class-action lawsuit filed on September 8 alleges Anthropic misled users of its Claude Max subscription by advertising “5x or 20x more usage” without clearly disclosing that the multiplier applies only within a five-hour daily session window and that weekly caps, added in August 2025, still limit overall usage. Plaintiffs argue the support page’s multi-click disclosures are insufficient, and a prior individual suit was filed in June over the same issue.
