Anthropic was illegally blacklisted by the Trump administration, court rules

A federal judge ruled that the Pentagon’s decision to blacklist Anthropic earlier this year violated the Constitution, finding the government’s “empty invocation of national security” cannot be used to punish critics. The ruling follows Anthropic’s March lawsuit alleging retaliation for the company’s refusal to support unacceptable military AI applications. Judge Rita F. Lin issued the decision in the Northern District of California.
