Apple decides undermining its own email privacy feature was a bad idea after all

Apple reversed a planned change that would have moved new Hide My Email addresses to the @private.icloud.com domain, which would have let websites instantly identify masked addresses and defeat the privacy protection. The rollback follows internal objections and a recent bug fix that had previously exposed real email addresses.
