Apple Maps follows Google in renaming Lake Ontario

Apple Maps renamed Lake Ontario to “Lake America” following President Donald Trump’s executive order amid a U.S.–Canada trade dispute, mirroring Google’s earlier change. The Canadian version of Apple Maps retains the original name, while international versions display both “Lake Ontario” and “Lake America.” The update lagged Google’s change, which occurred soon after the name appeared in the U.S. Geographic Names Information System.
