Apple Music will label AI songs, and the tags behind them are now mandatory

Apple Music will require content providers to attach “Made With AI” labels to any track where a material portion is generated by generative AI, with the tags becoming mandatory later this year. The company’s in-house detection can identify the AI model used, but enforcement details, thresholds, and penalties for non-compliance remain unspecified. Apple reports that over a third of monthly uploads are fully AI-generated, yet such content accounts for less than 0.5% of overall usage.
