The Apple Vision Pro was used for a successful hip surgery

Stryker’s SportSuite Vision app, authorized by the FDA’s De Novo pathway on July 17, was employed in a hip arthroscopy at Duke Health, allowing surgeon Dr. Chad Mather III to view orthopedic planning tools, arthroscopic footage and CT images within the sterile field via the Apple Vision Pro. The procedure demonstrates the headset’s mixed-reality capability to overlay digital content onto the real operative environment, streamlining workflow and enhancing intra-operative information access.
