Apple will launch its smart home push on 13 October, Bloomberg reports

Apple will launch its smart-home hub, code-named J490, on 13 October, featuring a 6-inch display inspired by the iMac G4 and running a new OS built around Siri. The launch will also include the first HomePod mini update since 2020 and Apple TV’s first new box since 2022, with the hub offering face-recognition to display personalized widgets, calendar, and music. The device, delayed 18 months, will compete with Amazon Echo Show and Google Nest Hub.
