Apple’s new watches listen, summarise and chime while they do it

Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 add Live Rewind, replaying the last 15 seconds of a conversation as on-wrist text after a double-click of the Digital Crown; the feature launches unavailable in the EU. It runs on the S11 chip’s Secure Enclave, processes audio in isolation, deletes recordings, and signals activation with a chime, animation, and microphone icon. The devices also include a Health Sensing System with larger green LEDs, five-second heart-rate sampling, expanded HRV metrics, and a readiness score ranging from 0 to 10.
