Astra and Opus just passed Turing’s other test

Astra, OpenAI’s GPT-6 model, decoded an Enigma message that had remained unsolved since 2005 by researching archival data, locating context clues, simulating the machine, and producing the plaintext. Claude Opus 5, Anthropic’s model, broke a different unsolved message using an officer’s name signature. Seven Enigma messages still remain unbroken.
