Australia's recording association bans AI-made music from charts

Australia’s recording industry body announced that tracks wholly generated with generative AI will be barred from the national charts and ineligible for ARIA Awards, while songs using AI as a support tool remain eligible if “substantially human made” and free of manipulation concerns. The rule takes effect this Friday and aligns with IFPI recommendations and recent calls from Sony, Universal and Warner to exclude AI-only releases from chart calculations.
