Before you buy a used GameCube, check for this common issue

The GameCube is region-locked, so a console bought in North America (NTSC-U) will only run NTSC-U games and cannot play Japanese (NTSC-J) or European/PAL titles, and vice versa. Identify the correct region by checking box markings—ESRB ratings for US releases, “PAL” or green triangles for European games, and smaller Japanese packaging. Ensure you purchase the matching model to avoid incompatibility with your game collection.
