Berkeley Law prohibits AI use in classes (by default)
Berkeley Law’s new policy, effective Summer 2026, bans AI assistance for conceptualizing, outlining, drafting, revising, translating, editing, or any exam-related work submitted for credit, limiting AI use to source identification only. Instructors may grant exceptions in writing for courses teaching AI fluency, and students must disclose any authorized AI use.
