Berlin fears France’s Palantir rival is a new dependency, Politico reports

German internal notes warn that adopting France’s Arcadia battlefield-AI system would replace U.S. dependence on Palantir with reliance on French defence firms such as Mistral AI, Safran.AI, Thales and Airbus, potentially undermining Germany’s sovereign data-integration ambitions. Although Arcadia matches NATO standards and is being pitched as a European alternative to Palantir’s Maven, the EU rejected it as a Defence Project of Common Interest, leaving its funding and interoperability uncertain.
