Boston dumps Flock, says it shared data nationwide in violation of contract

Boston terminated its contract with Flock Safety after the company violated terms by sharing license-plate reader data nationwide. A city surveillance report confirmed that a vendor error caused this unauthorized data distribution during the initial days of a 45-camera pilot program conducted by the Boston Police Department between April and September 2024.
