Broadcom seeks more than $60bn in debt to fund AI chips for Anthropic

Broadcom is negotiating a debt package exceeding $60 billion, split into a $30 billion junior tranche and a $60-70 billion senior-secured tranche backed by a special-purpose vehicle, to fund AI chips for Anthropic and other labs. The partnership aims to deliver over 20 gigawatts of compute capacity by 2028, with the initial $35 billion commitment adding one gigawatt.
