Calif. counters FCC attack on DEI with conditions on Verizon/Frontier merger

The California Public Utilities Commission approved Verizon's $9.6 billion acquisition of Frontier Communications with conditions, including deploying more fiber and offering $20/month Internet to low-income users for 10 years. The merger is expected to complete on January 20.
