Caltech Mathathon – first hackathon ever devoted to research level mathematics

The Caltech Mathathon, running October 30–November 1, will convene a hundred teams equipped with frontier AI models and $2 million in AI credits to tackle open mathematical problems such as the planar unit-distance conjecture and the six-sphere complex-structure question. Teams must present and defend their solutions before leading mathematicians, with prizes awarded for both promising results and later verified breakthroughs.
