Canada suspends trade negotiations with USA and match tariffs dollar for dollar

Canada has halted trade negotiations with the United States and ordered its negotiators back to Ottawa after the U.S. announced a 50% tariff on roughly $28 billion of Canadian goods, which Canada will mirror dollar-for-dollar. The government will add measures to support workers and businesses, building on about $25 billion of aid delivered in the past 18 months, while pursuing $500 billion in infrastructure projects and expanding export markets to double current access by year-end.
