ChatGPT, Reddit and Roblox to face the EU's strictest platform rules

The European Commission has classified ChatGPT as a “Very Large Online Search Engine” and Reddit and Roblox as “Very Large Online Platforms,” each exceeding 45 million average monthly EU users, subjecting them to the Digital Services Act’s toughest obligations. They must now submit data to the Commission, undergo annual independent audits, allow limited researcher access, and ensure stricter controls on illegal content, harms to minors, and electoral influence, with a four-month compliance deadline.
