ChatGPT to face tougher regulation in the EU

OpenAI’s ChatGPT is classified as a Very Large Online Search Engine under the EU Digital Services Act, obligating the company to mitigate risks to minors, user mental health, and illegal content. The European Commission also designated Reddit and Roblox as Very Large Online Platforms, banning targeted advertising to minors and the use of personal attributes—such as sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, or political beliefs—for ad targeting.
