China is recalling millions of EVs because the emergency release blends into the trim

China’s market regulator ordered a recall of over 4 million vehicles, including about 2.98 million Teslas, after discovering that interior emergency door release levers blend into surrounding trim, making them difficult to locate. The mandated remedy consists of warning labels and software updates, while a 2027 regulation will prohibit concealed door handles.
