China reportedly allows ByteDance and Tencent to import 10,000 H200 chips

ByteDance and Tencent have each received 10,000 NVIDIA H200 AI chips after China relaxed import restrictions, allowing the processors to enter the mainland to support local AI model training. The companies can purchase up to 100,000 chips each, but authorities have instructed shipments to be routed through Hong Kong to keep most units out of the mainland and protect the domestic chip industry.
